Prof. Mamo graduated from the Malta Medical School in 1993. He subsequently trained at the University of London (UK) in Neuroscience, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre (UPMC, USA) in General and Geriatric Psychiatry, the University of Toronto (Canada) in Psychopharmacology, and the University of Ferrara (Italy) in Translational Neuroscience. He served as Consultant Psychiatrist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Toronto, Canada) and the Malta Mental Health Services, and Training Coordinator of the Malta Psychiatry Postgraduate Training Programme, and appointed Head of the Malta Postgraduate Medical Training Programme in 2023.
